What does El Paseo coffee taste like?

El Paseo offers a rich, dessert-inspired flavour profile that is both comforting and refined.

The cup opens with luxurious notes of chocolate sauce, creating a deep sweetness and smooth body. Bright cherry notes bring a gentle fruit character that adds balance and vibrancy to the cup.

These flavours are rounded off by a creamy vanilla ice cream sweetness, leaving a smooth, lingering finish. The result is a well-balanced coffee with plenty of sweetness, making it an easy favourite for everyday drinking.

Coffee origin: Buesaco, Nariño, Colombia

El Paseo is grown on the El Paseo farm in the municipality of Buesaco, Nariño, one of Colombia’s most respected coffee-growing regions.

The farm covers 7 hectares and is planted with the Castillo coffee variety, cultivated at elevations between 1,700 and 1,800 metres above sea level. Annual production averages approximately 16,000kg of dry parchment coffee.

The farm is owned and operated by Huver Castillo, a second-generation coffee producer with over 20 years of experience in coffee cultivation. Working alongside his wife and son, Huver began exploring speciality coffee production following the coffee price crisis of 2014, when falling market prices threatened the sustainability of many coffee farms.

Through dedication to quality and carefully developed post-harvest protocols, the Castillo family has focused on enhancing the organoleptic characteristics of their coffee, producing distinctive lots that showcase the exceptional potential of Nariño’s high-altitude terroir.

Sugarcane E.A. process

Naturally decaffeinated using Sugarcane Ethyl Acetate (E.A.)

The Sugarcane E.A. process uses a naturally derived compound obtained from sugarcane to remove caffeine while preserving the coffee’s original flavour characteristics. This gentle decaffeination method helps maintain sweetness, body and complexity, allowing the coffee’s origin characteristics to remain at the forefront of the cup.
