A complex and flavourful Peruvian decaf

Why you’ll love this coffee:

What does Manzanilla coffee taste like?

Manzanilla offers a distinctive and well-rounded flavour experience with layers of sweetness and complexity.

The coffee opens with rich chestnut notes that provide a smooth, nutty foundation and satisfying body. Delicate hints of chai spice add warmth and aromatic complexity, bringing subtle notes of sweet spice throughout the cup.

A bright green apple character introduces a crisp fruit acidity that lifts the profile and creates a refreshing finish. Together, these flavours create a balanced and elegant coffee with sweetness, depth and a clean finish.

Coffee Origin: Jaén & San Ignacio, Northern Peru

Manzanilla is produced by the Jumarp Cooperative in northern Peru, a region renowned for producing high-quality speciality coffees.

The coffee is grown primarily around the towns of Jaén and San Ignacio, where coffee trees benefit from natural shade that encourages slower cherry development. This extended maturation period helps create greater sweetness and complexity in the final cup.

The coffee is a carefully selected blend of Red Caturra, Red Bourbon and Typica varieties, cultivated at elevations ranging from 1,200 to 1,800 metres above sea level. The combination of high-altitude growing conditions, fertile soils and careful cultivation practices contributes to the coffee’s distinctive flavour profile.

Swiss Water® decaffeination process

100% chemical-free decaffeination using water.

After harvesting and processing, the coffee is decaffeinated by the Canadian company Swiss Water® using their renowned water-based decaffeination method.

The Swiss Water Process removes caffeine through the natural principle of osmosis, using water, temperature and time rather than chemical solvents. During the process, caffeine is gently extracted while preserving the coffee’s original flavour compounds, allowing the coffee’s sweetness, acidity and body to remain intact.

The result is a decaffeinated coffee that retains the character and quality of the original beans while offering a smooth, clean drinking experience.
