My role is all about supporting the culture of BM. I ensure we look after the wellbeing – and encourage the engagement – of our teams at every level, so they’re happy to embrace our high-performing ethos, and enjoy providing excellent service. It’s very much a family culture, and I see this as our secret ingredient in attracting and retaining the very best people.

When I joined BM in April 2002, I’d been working as a butler in a Japanese bank – a client of ours, which we still have today. Since then, I’ve enjoyed excellent development and career progression, working in various management roles in a wide range of contracts and environments. Through my own experience here, I’m a strong advocate of the industry’s ability to develop people and help them achieve great things over time. 

Working in a business that’s all about eating well, I love any food that’s simple, authentic and produced with care. I wish there was more African food available in London – jollof rice with red snapper, cooked by a friend of mine from The Gambia, is one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten.
