Wendy Bartlett

My role is all about making sure we keep, and live, our FOODIES values. That involves spending time with the team and clients, checking we’re doing what we promise. I’m at the end of the phone 24/7, so anyone can get in touch, any time. I’m always there to listen – for good or bad!

I started young in hospitality and catering, working my way up to become Compass Group’s Operations Director. In 1999, I teamed up with my business partner, Ian Mitchell, to establish Bartlett Mitchell (BM), with a strong belief in team values – honesty, openness, integrity, and providing a fun place to work, where everyone feels they can contribute. I’m pleased to say these values persist today, as does our enduring love of food. 

I believe food is a great reason to socialise, so I’m happy to eat everything from the very simple to the divine. Favourites at home are cheese on toast (with marmite, of course), hearty stews and Eccles cakes. My go-to restaurant is the Michelin-starred Trinity, owned and run by one of our chef consultants, Adam Byatt. I also love Charlie’s, at Browns Hotel in Mayfair – especially as it isn’t noisy, so I can enjoy the conversation as well as the food.
