Marking milestones and making memories

long service

Last week, in (rare) beautiful sunshine – with a stunning view of London – we had the absolute pleasure of hosting our Long Service Awards to recognise those who have been part of our #bmfamily for 5, 10, and an incredible 20 years.

A room full of familiar faces and genuine friendships

What made the event so special was the feeling in the room: familiar faces who’ve become not just colleagues, but true friends. People we’ve shared countless memories and moments with over the years. That’s what makes the #bmFamily💜💚 so unique – it’s the people and the relationships that bind us.

Recognising dedication and teamwork

Long service awards, in any organisation, are a time to pause and recognise the deep contributions made by individuals. At BM, it’s no different. We were proud to celebrate not only our brilliant site-based team members but also a number of our Support Office team (we don’t call it Head Office – and for good reason!).

The power of knowing your “Why”

What I love most is how clearly our support teams understand their WHY – it’s to empower those on the frontline to do what they do best. And when they’re supported well, the results are happy clients, strong partnerships, and long-term success – the very essence of our BM journey.

Bringing support and frontline together

Seeing support and frontline teams side by side reminded us all of what it takes to build something great. Everyone in that room has made a difference to the business – not just in food and service, but in shaping the culture. And that’s what makes this such a genuinely lovely place to work.

Resilience through challenging times

Each team member we celebrated has made a real, lasting contribution to how we’ve grown – especially through the pandemic years, which tested all of us. But by sticking together, supporting one another, and staying true to who we are, we found a path forward. The people in that room were a huge part of that resilience and success.

20 years of excellence: A special thanks to Patrick

A very special shout-out goes to Patrick, who has been with us for an amazing 20 years. As a manager at his site, he’s consistently delivered excellence, helped us retain key contracts, and built a reputation for his team that embodies what it means to be a true BM ambassador

Afternoon tea and thoughtful touches

While I’m now in a more semi-retired, ‘hands-off’ phase, it gives me such joy to see what the wider team continues to achieve.

I also want to say a big thank you to the site team who hosted the celebration. It was absolutely flawless – the afternoon tea was perfect, and the cakes? Well, the cakes were amazing. I felt especially spoilt as I had Manchester Tart made especially for me – my favourite. That’s the kind of thoughtful touch that makes days like this unforgettable.

Family, gratitude and new chapters

As we head into Easter – a time that’s all about reflection, renewal, and being with those who matter most. I’m reminded again how lucky we are to have such a close-knit and caring team. It’s a moment to be thankful for the connections we’ve built, both inside and outside of work.

So here’s to our incredible long service team members. To many more in the future as we continue to grow. And to everyone celebrating Easter: enjoy the time with family and friends, eat something sweet, and soak up every moment.
