bartlett mitchell, one of the UK’s leading independent caterers, has today launched a new people development scheme aimed at nurturing talent, supporting succession planning and attracting new stars to the business. – PEAR

The PEAR programme – which stands for Performance, Engagement, Achievement, Recognition – is primarily designed to develop competencies among employees and prepare them for the next stage in their career progression.

It will also help to attract fresh talent to the business and train them according to the company’s own standards and best practices.

A team of talent champions from across the bartlett mitchell employee network will be selected to spearhead the structured and targeted training initiative and mentor candidates to become successful.

The length of the programme will vary according to the level at which an individual is working. A supervisor working towards their first management position through the PEAR scheme could spend up to two years getting coached and developed for future roles.

bartlett mitchell aims to recruit and train 18 new talent team individuals to meet the company’s biggest business needs both back and front of house. These include nine chefs de partie and nine baristas/hospitality assistants. Once training is complete these new members will go on to act as talent champions for future training cohorts.

Ingrid Newbould, HR director at bartlett mitchell, said: “We work hard to invest in and drive our pipeline of talent and ensure our people – both existing and new – have the key skills needed to work as part of the bm family.

“PEAR will not only increase the professional status of our employees but also instil confidence in our clients that bartlett mitchell is a fantastic company to do business with.”
