Pete Redman joins The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts

We’re proud to see Pete Redman, our Chef Director, join The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA). Recognising his talent and dedication to the craft. Joining some of the most respected names in hospitality including Raymond Blanc OBE, Cherish Finden, Tom Kerridge and John Williams.
Membership of the Academy is by peer nomination and is a mark of exceptional skill, leadership and commitment to the industry. Members sign a charter to give back to hospitality by supporting and developing the next generation. Something already at the heart of both Pete and BM’s DNA.
A warm welcome from RACA
Welcoming Pete, Adam Byatt, Chairman of RACA, said:
"Pete’s culinary ethos embodies our mission of leading the hospitality profession by example and shaping its future through education. As BM’s Chef Director, Pete is well placed to recognise talent, lead by example and inspire the next generation of chefs."
Education and development at BM
Education and development are central to life at BM. Through our Innovation Days, masterclasses, workshops and access to fully funded apprenticeships, we create opportunities for our teams to learn, share ideas and grow. Regular supplier field trips also give our chefs valuable insight into the benefits of sourcing seasonally and locally. Ensuring menus are full of flavour while supporting sustainable and responsible practices.
Championing provenance and sustainability
Raising awareness of food provenance is a key part of the Royal Academy’s mission. Something we proudly champion across BM. Every menu features QR codes. These link guests to short videos that tell the stories behind the ingredients, introducing our local, artisan, B Corp, Fairtrade, Social Enterprise and Regenerative suppliers. It’s a window into the quality, care and community that sit at the heart of every dish we serve.
Pete’s reflections
"This week I was accepted as a member of The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts which is a huge honour,” says Pete. “I’m looking forward to future opportunities to collaborate with Adam and fellow RACA members to promote the mission of the Academy."
A shared commitment to culinary excellence
Pete’s appointment is a moment of pride for everyone at BM. It reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing culinary excellence, sustainability, and education across the business.
