Two senior team members promoted to new chef roles
We’re delighted to announce that we have created two new roles to support the development of our food and operations – promoting Daryll Young to head of chef development and innovation and Phil Leicester to head off culinary sales and retention.
In his new role, Daryll will focus on developing the catering business’ food offer, keeping up with food trends and providing training and insight to BM’s chef teams to facilitate this.
Phil, meanwhile, will be focusing on business growth and the retention of clients, ensuring we are delivering on our ambitions and commitments.
The roles have been created to match the business needs and support Daryll and Phil’s progression and development. The chefs, who have both been with BM for more than eight years, will report directly to BM chef director Pete Redman.
Chef director Pete Redman said:
“Daryll and Phil have both been extremely loyal and highly valued team members at BM as well as a massive part of our success. Daryll has been critical in developing our global breakfast, vitality and food to go concepts and has also established innovation away-days for all team members including monthly supplier visits, allowing them to get to know the passionate producers and growers we work with.
“Phil, meanwhile, has played a major role in winning us new business, organising all client and consultant networking events and helping us achieve one of the best client retention rates in the business.
“With the scope of their new roles, I know their contribution to the business, BM’s food offering, reputation and culture will continue to grow.”
Daryll Young, BM head of chef development and innovation, said:
“My new role is still centred around my passion for food, while also giving me more space to try new things and support the development of my colleagues.
“We have so many talented chefs at BM and I am excited to have even more opportunities to work with them on their own personal growth, which will ultimately benefit the company in the longer term.”
Phil Leicester, head of culinary sales and retention, added:
“Every day is different in my role with BM – one day I could be creating and presenting menus for prospective new clients, another could be spent visiting our teams and offering onsite support. It’s my favourite thing about what I do and I’m really looking forward to continuing to embrace the variety of challenges each new day brings, and working with the teams to develop new concepts and ideas that we can offer our ever-growing portfolio of clientele.”
