Euros Half-time snacks

If you’re watching the Lionesses in the final of the Women’s European Cup this weekend, here are a few Chef’s half-time snacks to help you stop biting your nails.

Cheese and Marmite Palmiers

  1. Melt the butter and brush it on the pastry.

  2. Spread the marmite and sprinkle with the grated cheese.

  3. Roll up one side halfway, then roll the other side. Wrap in clingfilm and chill until needed.

  4. Slice the palmier and bake at 190°C till golden and crisp.

Sweet Chilli and Sesame Filo Cracker

  1. Lay the filo on a silicone mat or baking parchment, brush with sweet chilli sauce, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

  2. Bake in an oven at 175°C until the filo is crisp.

  3. Allow to cool, then break into pieces and serve with hummus or sour cream.

Maple and Coriander Pecan Nuts

  1. Whisk the egg whites to froth.

  2. Add maple syrup, then add pecan nuts.

  3. Mix in the coriander roots and bake in an oven at 170°C until the pecan nuts feel dry to the touch.
