Honey Butter Toast

A rich, golden toast treat made with soft brioche, perfect for breakfast or an indulgent snack.
Ingredients
-
4 thick slices of brioche bread
-
270g unsalted butter, softened
-
90g clear honey
-
170g granulated sugar
-
Pinch of sea salt (optional, to balance sweetness)
Method
In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, honey, and sugar together until smooth and creamy. Stir on a low heat until melted and combined.
Preheat a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Alternatively, use a sandwich press or grill pan.
Dip the brioche bread slices into the honey butter mixture, coating both sides. Place on a cooling tray over another tray to catch any drips. Use any excess mixture to coat the slices again. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
Place the coated brioche slices into a preheated oven at 170°C for 4–5 minutes. Flip and cook for another 4–5 minutes, until golden on both sides.
Remove from the oven and cool on a rack. Serve cool to allow the sugar to harden. Enjoy as-is or with fresh berries, cream, or a dusting of icing sugar.
