I have the best job ever, because I love food, people and problem solving. I can look at the big picture as well as the detail – which helps me understand what customers want, and then find unique and innovative ways to lead our marketing team in developing the foods and brands that attract them. My team also supports our restaurant managers by creating engaging communications that increase customer participation and turnover.

I’ve been with BM since the beginning. Initially as a consultant, I created all the BM branding for our founders, Ian and Wendy, including the much-used Bartlett pear! I joined full time as Marketing Director in 2012. For 20 years before joining BM, I ran my own marketing and brand consultancy, winning awards for design effectiveness and people development.

This quote from Julia Child rings very true for me: “A party without a cake is just a meeting.” I like baking (and eating) cakes! My food hero is our Chef Director, Pete Redman. Modest and inspiring, he has encouraged me to be adventurous, and as a result, I’ve grown in confidence to become a competent amateur chef – although I do still have the occasional disaster!
