We believe in not only providing best-in-class food and service but also in safeguarding the health of our planet. Our commitment to sustainability goes hand in hand with our dedication to providing exceptional food and service. Several years ago, we launched “Eat with the Earth in Mind”, a pivotal step in our journey towards a more eco-conscious approach to dining.

Eat With the Earth In Mind

One of the cornerstones of “Eat with The Earth in Mind” is the reduction of animal protein in our dishes. We’ve embraced a plant-powered approach, incorporating grains, pulses, and beans into our recipes. For instance, in our signature cottage pie, we blend 500g of beef with 500g of lentils, maintaining a high protein content while championing a plant-based alternative that doesn’t compromise on taste.

Sourcing Seasonal and Local Produce

In addition to rethinking protein sources, we prioritise sourcing  seasonal and local produce. By supporting local farmers and producers, we not only ensure freshness and quality but also reduce transportation emissions associated with long-distance food supply chains. Our commitment to using locally sourced ingredients, where possible, strengthens community ties while helping to reduce our carbon footprint.

Minimising Food Waste

Minimising food waste is another integral aspect of our sustainability mission. Through meticulous planning and portion control, we strive to reduce waste at every stage of our operations. Additionally, we actively engage with our customers and staff to raise awareness about food waste and share practical tips for reducing it at home and in the workplace.

Engagement and Education

Central to our sustainability initiative is engagement and education. We host engaging roadshows and pop-ups at our client sites, providing a platform to share our sustainability efforts and educate our customers about the importance of mindful eating. These roadshows give us a chance to share with our customers not only what we are doing as a business but why.

Leading the Charge Against Food Waste

As a proud ambassador for the Guardians of Grub, we’re actively involved in the fight against food waste within the hospitality industry. Collaborating with fellow ambassadors allows us to share best practices, exchange ideas, and work towards collective solutions to this pressing issue. Together, we’re making strides towards a more sustainable future for the food service sector.

As Earth Day approaches, we are proud of our sustainability initiatives and our commitment to the planet. From reducing plastic usage to sharing “wast-ed” recipes with our customers and chefs, we’re dedicated to making a tangible impact on the environment.
