Tom is an experienced wine expert and showman with an unrivalled history in wine. His exceptional blend of passion, humour and knowledge make him a much sought after host in the corporate events world.
Tom’s family, Gilbeys, were the first English family to buy a Chateau in Bordeaux (1875 – Chateau Loudenne). They went on to become the most prominent wine and spirits merchant in the UK selling one in every three bottles of wine consumed and developing a range of spirits including Smirnoff Vodka, J&B whisky and their very own Gilbeys Gin.
Tom’s history is both as a winemaker and wine importer. At the age of 23 he was making wine, after which he went on to build and sell two prominent London wine companies.
Bringing wine to life, making it fun and sharing his experiences is what Tom loves to do, hence Tom Gilbey Ltd., his wine events company which now has all of his energy, enthusiasm and expertise.
